Kesho Board Run the Bath Half Marathon for Kesho

by | Mar 13, 2016 | Uncategorized

Kate Nokes (Kesho Board Member) and her husband James ran the Bath Half marathon (13 miles; 21 kms) yesterday for Kesho.  So far they have raised £710 towards sponsoring more children through school. A fantastic effort. Thank you!

Kate said…

“It was the most brilliant event ever.  15,000 people took part and the streets were lined thick with supporters and bands cheering everyone on the whole way.  It was like a giant street party; fantastic.

Our results… roughly 2 hours 20 minutes and position 8,000 and something!
The Kenyans Robert Mbithi and Gideon Kimosop got 1st and 3rd places respectfully with Mbithi completing in just 1 hour and 1 minute – a course record.  He lapped us at what for him was 9 miles and for us, only 3!  Amazing and properly inspiring to watch.
Legs are pretty sore today but it was totally worth it.  We were smiling nearly all the way.
Here are a few pictures…before and after!  Full respect for the fancy dress folk who were among the many running for charities.

Feel inspired…. why not join in and do your own sponsored event for Kesho this year!

Recovering on the sofa afterwards Thanks to Kesho for providing such lovely t-shirts.

One of the many people running for charity in fancy dress. Very impressive effort.
